Abstract
A computer implemented method of assisting bending of a reinforcing rod () includes the steps of receiving spatial positions (P) of chirurgical implants (), in particular pedicle screws, captured by a camera-based positioning device (), the chirurgical implants () configured to attach to the reinforcing rod (); calculating a rod shape () corresponding to the spatial positions (P), allowing the chirurgical implants () to be attached to the reinforcing rod (); based on the calculated rod shape (), calculating a sequence of bending parameter set(s); and generating tool operation guidance for bending tool(s) () based on the bending parameter set(s), the tool operation guidance indicating a sequence of prescribed operation steps (S), wherein the sequence of prescribed operation steps (S) are determined such, that when carried out using the bending tool(s) (), causes the bending tool(s) () to shape the reinforcing rod () corresponding to the calculated rod shape ().
