Abstract
A calcium ruthenate composition of matter includes a compound of calcium, ruthenium and oxygen with a chemical formula of CaRuOand with 'a' greater than or equal to 2.75 and less than or equal to 3.25, ‘b’ greater than or equal to 0.75 and less than or equal to 1.25, and ‘c’ greater than or equal to 5.75 and less than or equal to 6.25. The CaRuOis an oxygen evolution reaction catalyst, an oxygen reduction reaction catalyst, and/or a catalyst for the hydrolysis of a hydrogen containing compound.
