Abstract

A display device includes a base layer, a circuit layer on the base layer, and a plurality of light emitting units on the circuit layer. Each of the light emitting units includes a lower electrode, a pixel definition layer on the lower electrode, the pixel definition layer having a pixel opening to expose the lower electrode, a functional layer on the lower electrode, the functional layer including a light emitting layer, an upper electrode on the functional layer, and an encapsulation layer on the upper electrode. At least one light emitting unit from among the plurality of light emitting units is at a different layer from other light emitting units from among the plurality of light emitting units in a thickness direction, and the pixel openings of the plurality of light emitting units do not overlap each other.
