Abstract
A rotary electric machine includes a stator and a rotor. The stator has a plurality of teeth portions. Slots are formed between adjacent ones of the plurality of teeth portions. The rotor faces the teeth portions. The rotor has a rotor core and a rotating shaft. The rotor core retains permanent magnets. Magnetic poles formed by the permanent magnets have the number of poles of 16 to 32. When the rotor is viewed in an axial direction of the rotor, an average number of the slots for one magnetic pole is six.
