Abstract

Embodiments relate to storing and updating reference communication flows as a reference dataset for comparison against a query communication flow to perform a network trace analysis. Reference data set, reference communication flows, and corresponding features and labels are stored. Network packets are preprocessed and correlated. The features are extracted from the correlated network packets. A subset of the reference dataset having greatest similarity to the query communication flow and the features of the query communication flow are determined. The candidate labels and information indicating likelihood of the candidate labels being correct is determined by comparing the subset of the reference dataset with the query communication flow. Feedback based on these predictions is received and used for updating the reference dataset adaptively. This approach reduces time-consuming manual operations in network trace analysis while continuously improving predictions based on the feedback.
