Abstract
A rotationally molded type III traffic barricade system has a plurality of bases and uprights adapted to be assembled in a shipping configuration, a transportation configuration and a deployment configuration. Each upright has recess for receiving a warning light and a cushion adjacent the recess for absorbing the impact force of a collision between the barrier and a vehicle. Recesses are also provided in the upright for receiving barricade panels in such a manner that the chance of damage to the panels is minimized during transportation, etc. Dimples in the recesses and opposing cones on the rear surface of the upright guide an assembler as to where to drill holes for bolts that mount the barricade panels to the uprights.
