Abstract
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration message from a base station, and the configuration message may include an indication of one or more partial bands for channel state information reporting. Each partial band of the one or more partial bands may be less than a system bandwidth and include a plurality of frequency domain units associated with a precoder. The UE may select one or more antenna ports for each partial band of the one or more partial bands based on the configuration message and calculate channel state information including a linear combination of the selected one or more antenna ports for each partial band. The UE may transmit the channel state information including an indication of the selected antenna ports and linear combination coefficients for each partial band of the one or more partial bands.
