Abstract

A method for restricting comment access for a document is described. A request for comment permissions to be applied to a comment within the document is received. The comment permissions exclude a target user from an access type for the comment. The comment permissions are applied to the comment, where the comment permissions are distinct from document permissions for the document. Content data of the document is generated for display on a user interface for the target user according to the document permissions. Content data of the comment is generated for display on the user interface for the target user according to the comment permissions, including restricting the target user from the access type for the comment.
