Abstract
User equipment and methods for communication over a wireless network are described. According to one embodiment, the user equipment is configured for exchanging portions of signaling data exclusively over primary component carriers in a first mode in a first phase; for exchanging a portion of the signaling data of a selected primary component carrier of the primary component carriers of a first component carrier group simultaneously over the selected primary component carrier and a selected secondary component carrier of secondary component carriers of a second component carrier group in a second mode in a second phase subsequent to the first phase, the second phase being initiated in case a first trigger condition occurs; and for using the selected secondary component carrier from the second phase in a third mode in a third phase subsequent to the second phase as one of the primary component carriers.
