Abstract

An object of the present invention is to provide a rotary electric machine in which damage of a magnet is suppressed and cooling performance of the magnet is improved. The present invention includes a rotation shaft, a rotor, and core end membersandconnected to end portions of the rotor. The rotorincludes a magnet, a rotor core, and interposed membersandinterposed between the magnetand the rotor core. In the rotor core, a magnet insertion holefor disposing the magnetand flux barriersandare formed. The rotation shaftis provided with a first flow paththrough which a refrigerant flows. The core end membersandare provided with a second flow pathjoining the first flow pathand the flux barrier. The interposed membersandare provided along the axial direction such that a cooling flow path for the refrigerant is formed on both facing surfaces of the central portion of the magnetin the axial direction, which are long sides of a rectangular cross section.
