Abstract
A belt rotating device includes: an endless belt having a projection at an axial end of an inner peripheral surface thereof; a first roll limiting an axial movement of the belt by contacting the projection; and a second roll including large-diameter, small-diameter, and transition portions, the small-diameter portion located on an axially outer side relative to the large-diameter portion, the transition portion having an outside diameter that decreases from the large-diameter portion to the small-diameter portion. The belt is wrapped around the large-diameter portion with an outer peripheral surface of the small-diameter portion or the transition portion facing the projection in a radial direction, and a radial gap, from a part of the outer peripheral surface where the outer peripheral surface faces the projection to an outer peripheral surface of the large-diameter portion, is greater than a height of the projection from the inner peripheral surface of the belt.
