Abstract
An image forming apparatus acquires print ratio information on an average print ratio of a developer image, and a controller notifies of an exchange of a supply container when developer in the supply container is decreased in amount by being supplied from a supply container to an accommodating portion and then a developer amount of the developer in the supply container indicated by the first developer amount information reaches a predetermined developer amount, executes the operation in an operation mode until the supply container connected to a developing unit is exchanged after the first notification, and notifies of an end of the operation in the operation mode when a use amount of the developer indicated by the second developer amount information reaches a predetermined usable amount. A developing setting portion sets the start developer amount depending on the exchange number information and the print ratio information.
