Abstract

A wireless device receives a radio resource control (RRC) release message comprising a suspend configuration and a configured grant (CG) configuration parameter for a small data transmission (SDT) procedure. Based on the RRC release message, the wireless device transitions to an RRC inactive state, suspends one or more radio bearers except for a signal radio bearer 0, starts a time alignment timer for the CG, and starts a wait timer with a value. The wireless device initiates, based on determining one or more conditions being fulfilled, the SDT procedure. Based on the initiating the SDT procedure, the wireless device derives, using a network hop chaining count value, security keys for integrity protection and/or ciphering, configures to resume the integrity protection, and applies the security keys for the ciphering to data/signal. The wireless device transmits an RRC resume request message comprising the resume identity and a first packet.
