Abstract
Glass compositions include titania (TiO), lanthanum oxide (LaO), boron oxide (BO), silica (SiO) as essential components and may optionally include zirconia (ZrO), niobia (NbO), calcium oxide (CaO), barium oxide (BaO), yttria (YO), zinc oxide (ZnO), gadolinium oxide (GdO), gallia (GaO), tungsten oxide (WO) and other components. The glasses may be characterized by high refractive index at 587.56 nm at comparably low density at room temperature.
