Abstract
A trocar () is provided which permits cleaning of a medical device herein. In aspects, the trocar () has a seal () at a distal portion of the trocar (). In use, a medical device, such as a laparoscope (), passes through the seal () at the distal portion of the trocar (). To clean a lens () at the end of the laparoscope (), a vacuum is applied to the interior of the trocar (), the laparoscope () is partially withdrawn so that it is proximal to the seal (), and liquids and/or gases are introduced into the trocar () to clean the lens () while the laparoscope () remains within the trocar ().
