Abstract
There is provided an electric motor in which a flange portion can be miniaturized in a radial direction while securing a space for fastening a metal member to the flange portion. The electric motor includes: a rotor that includes a rotation shaft and is disposed on an inner diameter side of a stator that is integrally formed with a resin outer shell that includes an opening end portion that is provided at an end portion on one side in an axial direction, and a cylindrical portion that protrudes from a bottom portion that is provided at an end portion on the other side in the axial direction toward the other side; a lid member that covers the opening end portion and includes a first bearing housing portion, the first bearing housing portion housing a first bearing that rotatably supports the rotation shaft; a metal member that is disposed on an outer peripheral surface of the resin outer shell and electrically connects the second bearing housing portion held by the cylindrical portion; and a vibration isolating member that is attached to the cylindrical portion. The second bearing housing portion includes a flange portion, the flange portion extending from a cylinder portion in an outer diameter direction, the cylinder portion housing a second bearing that rotatably supports the rotation shaft, the cylindrical portion includes a recessed portion on an outer peripheral surface, the vibration isolating member includes a projecting portion that engages with the recessed portion, and at least part of a fastening member is located in a region overlapping with the recessed portion when viewed from the axial direction, the fastening member fastening the metal member to the flange portion.
