Abstract
An electrical machine () having a stator () and a rotor () mounted rotatable with respect to the stator () is provided. The rotor () comprises at least one magnetic pole pair that has two magnets (). Further, the rotor () comprises at least two recesses () that extend at least partially through the rotor (), the recesses () being arranged at opposite sides of the rotor (), and the number of magnetic pole pairs of the rotor () being different from the number of electromagnetic pole pairs able to be generated during operation of the rotor (). Further disclosed is a method of operating the electrical machine ().
