Abstract

An automated teller machine includes: a bundle receiving unit in which a bundle of mediums are input; a discrimination unit that receives the mediums from the bundle receiving unit and discriminates the mediums; a temporary holding unit that temporarily holds the mediums discriminated in the discrimination unit; a conveyance path for conveying the mediums between the discrimination unit and the temporary holding unit; and a controller that controls the bundle receiving unit, the discrimination unit, and the temporary holding unit. When the mediums on the conveyance path are returned to the bundle receiving unit, the controller controls the bundle receiving unit such that the mediums on the conveyance path are stacked in a single bundle with the mediums stacked in the bundle receiving unit.
