Abstract

The invention relates to a reduced-size FMCW lidar imager system. The imager system comprises an optical sourcefor a coherent, continuous and frequency-modulated primary signal Sin order to illuminate the scene; an optical collection elementconfigured to collect a backscattered signal S; a photodetectorintended to receive a heterodyne signal Sassociated with the collected signal S; and a processing unitconfigured to determine the distance zfrom the scene based on a beat frequency of the heterodyne signal s. It is configured to fully direct the primary signal Sto the scene. It additionally comprises a reflectorconfigured to reflect a portion S, called uncollected signal S, of the backscattered signal S, not collected by the optical collection element, in the direction of the scene
