Abstract
A setting (), including, aligned along an axis for driving into a bed () of a piece of jewellery or timepiece (), an upper body () including a first surface () to receive a component to be set (), a setting element () to hold the component (), and a lower body () including a second front surface (), between which bodies () a deformable area () is plastically deformable under the action of an axial driving force greater than a predetermined driving force, to bring the setting () into a stressed state wherein the deformable area () is irreversibly deformed and/or fractured, in the form of a clot radially pushing back a peripheral surface () of the setting () towards a lateral wall of the bed (), or/and in the form of a fault radially pushing back the upper body () towards this lateral wall.
