Abstract
The aspirating detection system () comprises: a central detection unit () configured to analyse sample air from the monitored environment (); a sampling pipe () for providing the sample air to the central detection unit () from the monitored environment (), wherein the central detection unit () is configured to draw the sample air along the sampling pipe (); at least one ambient temperature sensor () configured to sense an ambient temperature value corresponding to an ambient temperature outside of the aspirating detection system (); at least one sample air temperature sensor () configured to sense a sample air temperature value corresponding to a temperature of the sample air; and a controller () configured to determine a condensation occurrence condition is met when a difference between the sample air temperature value and a corresponding ambient air temperature value exceeds a condensation threshold value.
