Abstract
Certain embodiments are directed to the use of d9-methadone as an alternative formulation for methadone, the d-methadone having an improved absorption-distribution-metabolism-excretion profile, analgetic efficacy, and safety for the management of pain following injury such as trauma, disease, and surgery.
