Abstract
A tyre tread () has a groove () having a snow trapping device in the form of a dam () in it. The dam () is attached to a bottom wall () of the groove (), and to side walls () of the groove (). The dam () has a first, snow trapping surface () and a second, inclined surface () which face in opposite sides in the groove longitudinal direction. The second, inclined surface () directs the flow of water away from the bottom wall (). A hole () and a sipe () form a passageway () for water through the dam () in the groove longitudinal direction. The passageway reduces water flow recirculation. The whole of the dam () is between the side walls () of the groove ().
