Abstract
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a broadband modem that includes a wireless modem and a wireline modem. A traffic integrate and split unit (TISU) within the broadband modem may split uplink data between the wireless and wireline connection based on a scheduling criteria. The TISU may also integrate or combine downlink data received by the wireless and wireline modems. Other embodiments are disclosed.
