Abstract
A branched organosilicon compound ('compound') having the general formula (R1)SiX—NR-D-Z(R)is provided. In the formula: each Ris selected from R and —OSi(R), with the proviso that at least one Ris —OSi(R); where each Ris selected from R, —OSi(R), and —[OSiR]OSiR; where each Ris selected from R, —OSi(R), and —[OSiR]OSiR; where each Ris selected from R and —[OSiR]OSiR; with the proviso that at least one of R, Rand Ris —[OSiR]OSiR; where each R is independently a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group; and where 0≤m≤100; each of X and D is an independently selected divalent linking group; each Rand Ris an independently selected substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group or H; Z is O or N; and subscript a is the valency of Z. Also provided is a method of preparing the compound and a composition including the compound.
