Abstract
A transmission for a vehicle () includes: an input shaft () for connection to an internal combustion engine () of the vehicle (); a gear () shaft (A,B) selectively operatively connected to the input shaft (); a clutch selectively actuatable to transmit motion between the input shaft () and the gear () shaft (A,B) for selectively operating the transmission in one of a plurality of transmission gears (); an output shaft () operatively connected to the gear () shaft (A,B) at least in part by the transmission gears (); and a transmission housing () at least partly enclosing the input shaft (), the transmission gears (), the clutch and the output shaft (). An internal dividing wall () defines first and second chambers (A,), the internal dividing wall () being configured to limit flow of transmission fluid between the first and second chambers (A,). The input shaft () and the clutch are disposed within the first chamber (A,B,). The transmission gears () and the output shaft () are disposed within the second chamber (A,B,).
