Abstract
Methods and systems for enhancing uplink grant scheduling in a Fifth Generation (5G) cellular communications are described herein. In some implementations, the method may comprise pre-configuring one or more resource blocks (RBs) in a radio frame for use by a plurality of user equipment (UE) to transmit data in an uplink according to a schedule. After the one or more RBs are granted, the method may further comprise monitoring the usage pattern of the one or more RBs during a time period. When some pre-granted RBs are observed to have low usage or hysteresis, the method may further comprise re-allocating the pre-granted RBs among the plurality of UE based on the usage pattern. In some implementations, one or more RBs may be pre-configured for low latency service or high quality service. The method may further include dynamically adjust the pre-granted one or more RBs based on their usage pattern.
