Abstract
A gas detector () includes a housing (), a sensor in the housing and an adapter (). An inlet in the housing provides a fluid connection between the sensor and the environment. The sensor is configured to measure a detection variable that correlates with the concentration of a target gas to be detected. The adapter () can be detachably and fluid tightly mounted on the housing. A fluid guide unit can be connected to a connection element () of the adapter (). When the adapter () is attached, an elastic filling () is located between an outer shell () of the adapter () and the sensor. The filling () is made of a cured foam. The foam includes fluorinated rubber. A channel () in the filling provides a fluid connection between the connection element () and the sensor.
