Abstract
A personal care device configured to perform an energy-based treatment on a body of a subject, the personal care device comprising: a main body portion including an energy source and a cavity having a primary opening, the cavity being configured to transmit treatment energy from the energy source to the primary opening, wherein the primary opening is configured to be placed against the body during use of the device to define the portion of the body being treated, and to define a volume of air within the cavity, wherein the cavity comprises a secondary opening arranged at a distance from the primary opening and at a distance from the body when the primary opening is placed against the body and configured to permit a flow of air via the secondary opening and a flow of air out of the cavity into the main body portion.
