Abstract

The present invention relates to performing radio frequency (RF)-based sensing. RF-based sensing is performed by a single-channel communication technology in order to detect a sensing event. Upon detecting the sensing event, a multi-channel communication technology is selected in dependence of the single-channel communication technology used for detecting the sensing event. RF-based sensing is then performed based on the multi-channel communication technology. This allows to first perform a coarse detection of a sensing event using the single-channel communication technology and orchestrate a subsequent RF-based sensing using the multi-channel communication technology in order to improve accuracy of the RF-based sensing. The frequency channels () used by the multi-channel communication technology can be selected in dependence of the frequency channel () used by the single-channel communication technology in order to improve the RF-based sensing, e.g., by maximizing or minimizing an overlap between the frequency channels ().
