Abstract
A charging port for an electric vehicle includes a charging socket, a push rod actuator, and a push rod coupled to the push rod actuator. The charging socket is configured to receive a charging connector of a charger (e.g., a charging station, a wall charger, a portable charger, etc.). The push rod is configured to decouple the charging connector from the charging socket when the push rod is displaced from a retracted position to an extended position by the push rod actuator.
