Abstract
A system is provided for determining a vehicle production sequence. The system includes production bays, at least one assembly line, and a storage area holding a number of vehicles. A processor executes operations to determine a first sequence in which the vehicles are moved from the storage area to the at least one production bay. The processor also determines a second sequence in which the vehicles are moved from the production bays to the assembly line(s); a time required by each vehicle in the production bays; and a required line speed of the at least one assembly line. Based on these determinations, the processor determines the number of vehicles predicted to exit the assembly line(s) during a work shift. The processor then outputs a report that includes the first sequence and the second sequence.
