Abstract
A communications method includes a terminal device receives broadcast information sent by a network device, where the broadcast information includes first information indicating N configuration parameters and a plurality of pieces of second information indicating Mconfiguration parameters. Then, the terminal device determines configuration information of an ireference signal based on some or all of the configuration parameters indicated by the first information and the Mconfiguration parameters indicated by the ipiece of second information, where the configuration information of the ireference signal includes Qconfiguration parameters, and Qis greater than or equal to N, and Qis greater than or equal to M. The method reduces signaling overheads of the broadcast information.
