Abstract
Ophthalmic lenses configured to exhibit a clear state and optionally at least one darker state by means of a substrate which may advantageously be photochromic or electrochromic. The ophthalmic lenses may especially be spectacle lenses providing in said clear state a sufficient light transmittance together with an acceptable light reflectance for the wearer, and advantageously forming in said at least one darker state a solar spectacle lens (i.e. for sunglasses) having a mirror front surface providing a mirror effect for the observer.
