An aircraft antenna () including a radome () wherein the radome () has a main body () shaped to enclose one or more antennae () when the antenna () is attached to a fuselage skin portion (), wherein the main body () includes a front surface portion (), a rear surface portion (), adjacent side surface portions (), and an upper surface portion () that form a smooth outer aerodynamic surface () of the antenna (), and wherein the upper surface () is substantially planar in shape along a length of 60% to 80% of a length (L) of the of the radome ().
