Abstract
The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for lime-based carbon capture. The composition comprises a calcium hydroxide component having a specific surface area of at least about 30 m/g; free moisture in an amount of about 1.5 to about 30 wt. %, based on the total weight of the composition; and one or more moisture-retaining additives attached to at least a portion of a surface of the calcium hydroxide component.
