Abstract
An electrode foil for an electrolytic capacitor contains a valve metal, and includes a core portion, and a porous portion continuous with the core portion. The porous portion has a thickness T μm, and includes an inner layer region located on the core portion side, and a surface layer region located opposite to the core portion. The surface layer region is a region within a distance T/4 from an outer surface of the porous portion, and the inner layer region is a region within a distance T/4 from a boundary of the porous portion with the core portion. An average size Dnm of pores in the surface layer region is smaller than an average size Dnm of pores in the inner layer region.
