Abstract
Systems, methods, and storage interface controllers for namespace management using mastership in multi-host storage systems are described. The storage interface controllers, such as NVMeOF controllers, determine the set of host systems connected to a namespace and indicate one of them has having mastership. Only the host system with mastership may delete the namespace and delete commands from other host systems are rejected. Logic for determining and migrating mastership is also described.
