Abstract

An image formation device () comprises a unit () that can be attached to and detached from a body frame (), and a lock mechanism (). The lock mechanism () has a grip part () that can move reciprocally in the attachment direction and the detachment direction of the unit (), a lock member () that is swingably positioned in the unit () and has a hook part () capable of engaging with an engagement-receiving part () formed on the body frame (), and a first biasing member () that biases the lock member () in a first direction, in which the hook part () engages with the engagement-receiving part (). Due to the grip part () being moved in the detachment direction, the lock member () swings in a second direction that is the opposite of the first direction, in opposition to the biasing force of the first biasing member (), and the engagement of the hook part () and the engagement-receiving part () is released. The lock member () has a restriction part () that restricts the swinging of the lock member () in the second direction while the grip part () is not moved in the detachment direction.
