Abstract
A connectivity manager of an overlay network which is to be set up using resources of a cloud computing environment as an underlay network is instantiated at a computing resource of the cloud. Using routing information of the overlay network, a route server of the cloud modifies a route table of the cloud. An encapsulation tunnel is created between the connectivity manager and a second computing resource at which a hypervisor of the overlay network runs. Based on the modified route table, a network packet from a source outside the overlay network is routed via the connectivity manager and the tunnel to a virtual machine of the overlay network at the second computing resource.
