Abstract
Stroke sensorfor detecting a position of moving objectthat moves linearly has: magnetic field generator; support memberthat supports magnetic field generator; and magnetic field detecting elementthat detects a magnetic field that is generated by magnetic field generator. Support memberconverts a linear movement of moving objectrelative to magnetic field detecting elementto a rotational movement of magnetic field generatorrelative to magnetic field detecting element. Magnetic field generatormoves rotationally in a rotational movement range having two ends, and a one-to-one correspondence is realized between a rotation angle of magnetic field generatorand a position of moving objectwithin a region of the rotational movement range that excludes at least the two ends.
