Abstract
A handheld work apparatus includes an actuating element () for actuating a drive motor (), and a blocking element () arranged on a top side () of a handle portion (). The blocking element () is operatively connected to the actuating element (). A control circuit () for controlling the drive motor () is provided. A switch () can be actuated via the blocking element () and has a switching element (). The switch () sends a signal to the control circuit () in an activated state. The switch () is arranged in the handle portion () between the blocking element () and a bottom side () of the handle portion () and is oriented such that the switching element () of the switch () faces the bottom side () of the handle portion ().
