Abstract

A polymer/hydrophobic ester oil blend is provided comprising (a) a cosmetically acceptable hydrophobic ester oil; and (b) a thickening polymer powder, thickening polymer, wherein the thickening polymer is a silylated cellulose polymer, comprising a cellulose polymer functionalized with —Si(R)groups; wherein each Ris independently selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen, a Calkyl group, a Chaloalkyl group, an aryl group, a Calkylaryl group and a Chaloalkylaryl group; and wherein the cellulose polymer has a weight average molecular weight of 50,000 to 1,500,000 Daltons. Also provided are suncare formulations containing same and methods of using same.
