Abstract

A prosthesis assembly includes a stent frame that is expandable and configured for being positioned in the ascending aorta, and a receiving socket positioned within a proximal end of the prosthesis assembly. The receiving socket defines a recess for allowing flowthrough of blood into the stent frame. The receiving socket is further configured for selectively receiving a heart valve assembly for replacing a native heart of a patient or maintaining a mode of operation where the socket is empty and blood flows through the socket into the stent frame.
