Abstract
A bidirectional power converter that includes phase legs that are used for both powering a multiphase load from a battery and for charging the battery from a power source. The converter includes fault detection for detecting faults in the phase legs of the converter. In response to a detection of a fault, the converter can utilize a spare phase leg in charging the battery such as in a multiphase charging mode or in single phase charging mode.
