Abstract
A method of hydrogen generation from sodium borohydride (NaBH) using a CoO/CaSiO@g-CNnanocomposite material includes hydrolyzing NaBHin the presence of a CoO/CaSiO@g-CNnanocomposite material, where the NaBHreacts with water to form hydrogen (H) gas in the presence of the CoO/CaSiO@g-CNnanocomposite material as a catalyst. Further, the CoO/CaSiO@g-CNnanocomposite material includes hexagonal metal oxide nanoparticles that include a CoO phase and a CaSiOphase dispersed on a matrix of g-CNnanosheets. The hexagonal metal oxide nanoparticles have an average particle diameter in a range from 340 to 430 nm. The method of the present disclosure has a hydrogen generation rate of at least 40 mL·min·g.
