Abstract
Systems, methods, and process nodes for managing bandwidth in a telecommunications network include or implement operations of receiving a connection request from a wireless communication device capable of communication in a first band having a first frequency and in a second band having a second frequency; receiving a capability report from the wireless communication device; and in response to a determination that the capability report meets a criteria, assigning the wireless communication device to communicate in the second band.
