Abstract

A washpipe assembly is configured to form a fluid tight seal between a rotating and non-rotating component. The washpipe assembly has a washpipe, a static seal assembly coupled to one end of the washpipe, and a dynamic seal assembly coupled to an opposite end of the washpipe. The dynamic seal has a seal disposed within an outer housing. The seal is contained within a seal cavity formed by the outer housing and an outer diameter of the washpipe. The dynamic seal assembly is rotatable relative to the washpipe while the seal maintains sealing contact with the outer diameter of the washpipe.
