Abstract

A device for the uninterrupted administration of fluid to an animal body during a draw of bodily fluid, e.g., blood from a blood vessel, is disclosed. A first fluid channel is configured to selectively transport IV fluid to an animal body and to draw a bodily fluid from the blood vessel via a catheter. A sealing member for sealing a blood draw port defines a concave surface on a first end. An outlet connector is configured to connect to a catheter to the first fluid channel and defines a concave distal end. An IV fluid inlet fluidly connected to an IV infusion lumen and configured for fluidic connection to an IV fluid source and uninterrupted delivery of IV fluid to the blood vessel. A valve member selectively provides a fluidic connection between the outlet connector and the IV fluid inlet, thereby selectively alternating between blood collection and IV fluid delivery.
