Abstract
Absorbent articles () have bonded materials and bond patterns. One of the absorbent articles () has a bond pattern (-) comprising bonds (-). The bond pattern (-) comprises a longitudinally extending series of bonds (), which comprises a first bond () and a second bond () disposed longitudinally adjacent to the first bond (). The first bond () has an inboard lateral edge (), an outboard lateral edge (), a top edge (), and a bottom edge () having a recess portion (). The second bond () has an inboard lateral edge () and an outboard lateral edge (), a top edge () having a recess portion (), and a bottom edge (). The top edge () of the second bond () faces the bottom edge () of the first bond (), each of the recess portion () of the first bond () and the recess portion () of the second bond () comprises terminal portions () which are disposed proximate the same outboard lateral edge () or inboard lateral edge () of the first bond () and the second bond (). Such bond patterns (-) have been found to provide a superior combination of strength and softness.
